Bowman… has always been “green!”

January, 2023 – During APEX, Kelly Scanlon, IPC’s Lead Sustainability Strategist, recognized Bowman’s “green practices,” which include AI/AR tools that allowed attendees to compare precision benchtop XRF systems without the environmental cost of shipping tons of equipment across the country. Ryan Ahern, Jeff Korpus, Rob Coleman and Tom Leone fielded questions and demo’d the technology at the Bowman booth, January 24-26 in San Diego.

Jeff Korpus is New Global Product Manager

November, 2022 – Bowman has announced Jeff Korpus as its new Global Product Manager.

The position has a broad portfolio, which includes research, development and marketing for the 8 XRF systems in the Bowman suite, as well as XRF reference standards. Korpus is uniquely qualified for the post, according to CTO Jun Choi, having been, most recently, Manager of Bowman’s Standards Business Unit.

Prior to that, Korpus was a Project Manager and Support Engineer, teaming with engineers and programmers to develop new hardware and software functionalities. Korpus also authored Bowman’s Quality System for ISO17025

Bowman Adds Software Developer

November, 2022 – Bowman is pleased to announce the hiring of Daniel Gilmore as Software Developer. Gilmore is a graduate of Purdue University, with a B.S. in Computer Engineering.

His most recent work experience was software development for Epic Systems (Madison, WI) where he worked with machine learning, natural language processing, and NoSQL databases to better manage hospital administration and improve patient care.

At Bowman, he will team with Kelly Jiang to maximize the long-term stability of Bowman’s new software release and enable it to perform background calculations simultaneously with measurement tasks. He will also work on optimizing firmware and the development of new instrument functionalities.

Software Engineering Team Expanded

October, 2022 – IT Manager Bob Magyar has announced the appointment of Kelly Jiang as Software Engineer. The position has a broad portfolio, including evaluation of new PCB designs and software interfaces and, more immediately, the final testing of Bowman’s eagerly anticipated software release.

Among the software’s most notable features is its ability to simultaneously measure and analyze. “Analysis follows computation immediately – and automatically,” says Jiang. “In this new release, the efficiency and stability of data transfers will be optimized – a huge advantage for customers with complex workflows.”

The software release will also benefit Bowman internally, suggests Jiang. “Application engineers creating new standards, production engineers in assembly, and technicians doing calibration will all experience functional and time-saving benefits with this release.”
